Instructions:

For the New Year cookies, sift flour with baking powder, crumble with butter and knead with the other ingredients to form a shortbread dough. Let the dough rest for 1/2 hour.

Roll out dough and cut out discs. Bake these at 180°C degrees for about 12 minutes. Let cookies cool and fill with apricot jam. For the glaze, heat rum with lemon juice and stir in powdered sugar. Stir until smooth and glaze the cookies.

Cut candied cherries in half and place on top as mushroom caps. Place the halved almond as a stem on the New Year’s cookie.
