Instructions:

First, cut the rolls into cubes. Mix with milk and the eggs.

Melt the butter over a gentle heat and fold in, season lightly with salt and let rest for about 25 minutes.

Then knead in the flour.

Prepare a clean kitchen towel (hence the name) damp and form the dumpling mixture into a roll in it. Tie the ends with a longer thread.

In a large saucepan (preferably oblong) fill 3/4 full with water and bring the water to a boil.

Place a wooden spoon across the cooking pot and attach the dumpling roll to both sides with the twine.

Simmer the napkin dumplings for about half an hour until they are slightly simmering.
