For Ulli’s Christmas Fruit Bread, chop figs and dates and soak in water overnight with the raisins. The next day, strain the soaked dried fruit, collecting the water.

Roughly grate the apples with peel and add to the dried fruit. Mix the mixture with the rest of the ingredients and knead well so that all the flavors are nicely distributed.

If the dough is too dry, simply add some of the collecting water from the dried fruit. Form 3 loaves and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
