For chocolate almond slices, separate the eggs, beat the yolks, salt and 2/3 of the sugar until well frothy. Heat the butter, chop the chocolate and melt it in the butter.

Stir in the melted chocolate. Mix the flour, almonds and baking powder and stir into the batter alternately with the milk.

Beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar and gently fold into the batter. Spread on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes.

Allow the chocolate almond slices to cool before eating and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
